DETAILED COURSE DESCRIPION

 

STREAMING AUDIO AND VIDEO (Part I)

 

1. Class Description:
Learn basics of audio and video streaming into SL, and on general Internet as well. Find out how to capture and encode audio and video samples and optimize them for Internet delivery. Includes: discussion of live music events, streaming media services, and Internet television. The first class in a series of classes about streaming media. The SL class is supplemented with a web-based resource list.

2. Class Title:

STREAMING AUDIO AND VIDEO – HOW TO DELIVER SOUND AND MOVIES IN SL AND THE GENERAL INTERNET (PART 1)

3. Three things that you expect the participants to learn during your
class:

a.     Learn the basics of capturing and encoding audio and samples

b.     Explore how audio and video are processed for Internet delivery, along with the capabilities/limitations of the Internet as a media delivery system.

c.     Get the specifics needed to deliver audio and video inside and outside Second Life, including the use of commercial streaming media services.
