Co-founded in 1994, Indiespace was the first web-based company to promote and sell independently-produced music, film, and entertainment properties. Today, Indiespace is an online entertainment, technology & marketing company/community for indie musicians, filmmakers, artists, game developers, authors and performers.

Jeannie Novak

Jeannie Novak

Co-Founder

Jeannie Novak is co-founder of Kaleidospace (d/b/a Indiespace), Co-Founder of Novy Unlimited, Owner of That's What She Does, and Lead Author/Series Editor of Cengage Learning’s widely acclaimed Game Development Essentials series (with more than 15 published titles). Prior to the GDE series, she wrote three books (with Pete Markiewicz) focusing on Internet technology, including the acclaimed Creating Internet Entertainment. Jeannie is on the Online Gameplay and Connectivity committees for the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences and has served on the Executive Boards of Women in Games International and the International Game Developers Association. She is also an accomplished composer, songwriter, and performer (piano/voice). Jeannie holds a BA in Mass Communication from UCLA and an MA in Communication Management from the Annenberg School at USC.
Dr. Pete Markiewicz

Dr. Pete Markiewicz

Co-Founder

Pete Markiewicz is co-founder of Kaliedospace (d/b/a Indiespace), instructor (graphic, web design, and development), and co-author of books on the web (with Jeannie Novak) and the Millennial generation. Pete began his career as a molecular biologist. He now works on projects in emerging technologies such as the WebVR virtual reality API for JavaScript. He currently teaches graphic and web design, client and server-side web development, Ux, and digital marketing. Pete has also designed projects in several virtual worlds and has lectured and consulted on their impact on popular culture, design, and development via the Center for Telecommunications Management at the USC Marshall School of Business. Pete is also an expert on US generations, and worked with Neil Howe and William Strauss, creators, of the "Millennial" generation -- co-authoring Millennials and the Pop Culture.
